Expert support for post-award success
Understanding EU Grants Management
Managing an EU-funded project involves dealing with layers of complexity that can catch even the most seasoned teams off guard. From the moment a grant is awarded, beneficiaries need to stay compliant with precise rules about cost eligibility, reporting, contracts, and more. One small oversight can lead to financial risks and stressful audits.
It doesn’t have to be that way. When you understand the ins and outs of EU requirements, managing grants becomes a structured process rather than a burden. Specialized support can make all the difference: it helps you handle deadlines, avoid common pitfalls, and devote your energy to making a real impact.
How we simplify the post-award process
At Inveniam, we understand these challenges firsthand. Through participating in many EU-funded projects, we saw the need for a dedicated team to tackle every aspect of post-award grant management. That’s why we built our EU Grants Management Department — and we want to offer these critical services to our clients.
Backed by legal, financial, and project expertise, our EU Grants Department offers exactly the support you need, whether you’re a project partner or a coordinator. We tailor our services to your specific challenges, helping you stay compliant, efficient, and ready for each milestone along the way.

Our core areas of support
Foundation & setup
Starting on solid ground prevents complications down the road. We help you establish the key legal and financial pillars so you can move forward with peace of mind.
Here’s what this entails:
- GAP Stage & Legal Requirements for grants: Validation of your company with the European Commission, assigning LEAR and project roles, preparing the Description of Action, and drafting the Consortium Agreement.
- Initial Financial Control: Setting up resource allocation planning, time-recording frameworks, and clear accounting structures.
- Service Contracts & Internal Policies: Reviewing or creating templates for service contracts (i.e. with freelancers, subcontractors) and refining policies such as conflict of interest, procurement, and teleworking.
Day-to-day monitoring & reporting
Once you’ve laid the groundwork, our ongoing support ensures there are no unpleasant surprises. When you stay proactive, you can focus on your goals without getting lost in paperwork.
We provide comprehensive financial control and reporting services, including internal checks, accurate personnel cost calculations, and the preparation of clear interim and final reports through the Funding & Tenders portal. This helps maintain transparency and accuracy in your financial management.
Additionally, we offer deviations management and coordination by monitoring changes in budget or milestones and supporting in the discussions among Consortium members. We advise on the next steps and help project coordinators ensure partner compliance so that your project stays on track and meets its objectives.
Audit & amendments
Audits don’t have to be intimidating when you’re prepared from day one. We help you keep everything organized so you can handle any checks with confidence. Our audit preparation services cover the preparation for the Certificate on Financial Statements (CFS), along with explanatory documents for auditors. We also support in the preparation of potential ex-post audits, including compiling methodologies for personnel costs calculation and gathering proofs for compliance with the best value for money and absence of conflict of interest principles.
In addition, we assist with grant agreement amendments by determining if the request for a change is needed, guiding you through the necessary administrative steps, and ensuring compliance with the Commission’s requirements. This helps maintain the integrity and smooth progression of your project.
Training
We don’t just do the work for you, we show you how to do it yourself. If you’d rather manage the process internally, we offer training sessions that equip your team with the knowledge and tools to handle it independently and with confidence.
Our training sessions are flexible and practical. They can be delivered as standalone workshops or fully integrated into ongoing project support.
Training can include:
- Covering essential legal and financial requirements.
- Preparing for audits with strong documentation practices.
- Ensuring intellectual property rights (IPRs) are protected and project results are effectively exploited.
