Carbon-4-LIFE Project

Carbon-4-LIFE is a European LIFE project developing an innovative, carbon-negative solution to transform underused woody residues from agriculture and forestry into renewable energy and valuable bio-based products. Demonstrated at BIOCAM’s facility in Seville, the project integrates pyrolysis, biomethanation and anaerobic digestion to produce bio-LNG, biogenic CO₂, biochar-based soil amendments and sustainable peat substitutes. By improving resource and energy efficiency, Carbon-4-LIFE aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, regenerate soils and decrease dependence on fossil-based inputs. The project will demonstrate the technical, environmental and economic viability of a scalable model that supports waste valorisation and advances Europe’s circular bioeconomy.

Carbon-4-LIFE and
Inveniam

From the outset, Inveniam has played a key role in Carbon-4-LIFE, supporting the consortium in securing European public funding through the coordination and preparation of the project proposal.

Throughout the project implementation, Inveniam contributes to bringing its innovative bio-based solutions closer to the market, fostering their uptake among key stakeholders and maximising their long-term impact across industry, policy and society. In particular, Inveniam leads activities related to stakeholder engagement, exploitation, commercialisation and IP strategy, as well as communication and dissemination. It also contributes to policy engagement, market validation and public acceptance, while supporting the overall coordination of the project.
