QuestPrehab and Ephion Health complete the programme’s intensive phase by presenting their pitches and co-investment opportunities
IGNITE Health held its Demo Day at Health Revolution Congress in Barcelona on 28 May. QuestPrehab and Ephion Health presented their pitches and highlighted the co-investment opportunities emerging from the programme after several months of tailored acceleration.
Supported by Inveniam Group, 2B Labs and 3xP Global, IGNITE Health combines initial investment with strategic support to help health-tech companies scale their solutions to market. The programme focuses on digital health and patient-centred solutions.
Selecting the two finalists
The selection process began in October, when the IGNITE Health team started analysing health-tech startups in several European ecosystems. More than 200 companies were reviewed before QuestPrehab and Ephion Health were selected as the two finalists in January.
Their participation formally began at the programme kick-off in February. Over the following months, both companies worked with mentors and external experts on the areas most relevant to their development.
The programme examined gaps in their financial planning, market readiness and go-to-market approach. It also included preparation for discussions with investors, together with support on public funding for startups, covering the identification of suitable opportunities and preparation of an initial application. This intensive phase culminated in the pitches presented at Demo Day.
Demo Day at Health Revolution Congress
Health Revolution Congress served as the setting for the final presentations. QuestPrehab and Ephion Health introduced their technologies, explained the healthcare needs they address and presented their plans for commercial development.
QuestPrehab provides digital prehabilitation for people preparing for major surgery or cancer treatment. Its platform makes personalised programmes available remotely, so healthcare providers can extend prehabilitation beyond conventional in-person services.
Ephion Health develops digital biomarkers and AI-powered assessments of patients’ functional capacity. Its technology combines wearable data with artificial intelligence and biomechanical analysis to support disease monitoring and the assessment of treatment outcomes.
The two companies address different parts of the healthcare pathway, but both reflect IGNITE Health’s focus on solutions centred on patients and their experience of care.
Where healthcare value is moving
The Demo Day also included a keynote by Orlando Vergara Correa titled “The New Health Ecosystems: Where Value Creation Is Moving.”
He argued that healthcare value increasingly depends on integrated, patient-centred ecosystems rather than individual products. Digital health can help pharmaceutical companies generate evidence during clinical development, support treatment pathways and monitor adherence. It can also provide a clearer understanding of whether a therapy is producing meaningful outcomes for patients.
QuestPrehab and Ephion Health illustrate this broader role for digital health, supporting patients at different points in the care pathway.
The next phase
Demo Day concluded the intensive phase of this IGNITE Health edition. The programme then moved into a 12-month implementation period, during which selected companies receive continued support to put the strategies developed during the intensive phase into practice.
This stage focuses on gaining initial market traction and building out the companies’ core teams, with further support for public and private funding.
