LUCIA Consortium
LUCIA (Understanding Lung Cancer-related Risk Factors and their Impact Assessment) is a Horizon Europe-funded project led by the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology that aims to improve lung cancer prevention, screening, and early diagnosis through advanced risk assessment tools. Bringing together 20 partners across Europe, the project combines genomics, epigenetics, AI, wearable technologies, environmental data, and non-invasive diagnostics to better understand how genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors contribute to lung cancer development. LUCIA is developing a comprehensive toolbox for precision screening and personalized risk prediction, with the goal of supporting earlier detection, improving patient outcomes, and informing future European healthcare policies and screening programs.
